EIFFEL TOWER Paris, France

Once the tallest structures in the world, the Eiffel Tower is probably Europe's best known landmark and Paris's most famous symbol.
The first time I visited Eiffel Tower, it was during the day. Even with the scorching heat of the sun, I was awed by it.

Now, with my second visit, it is another perspective of the Eiffel Tower. At night, the illumination is really breathtaking. A really WOW factor. At times, the 'twinkling lights' would light up,and people cheer.

As I enormously look at the tower (with head held up high), these intricate-overlapping steel bars astonished me. It is not just a usual tower where slabs of girds all put together, but, it is more of properly and well calculated design all put together.

The man behind the Eiffel Tower was Gustave Eiffel, known from his revolutionary bridge building techniques, as employed in the great viaduct at Garabit in 1884. These techniques would form the basis for the construction of the Eiffel Tower. He was also known for the construction of the Statue of Liberty's iron framework.

The structure took more than two years to complete. Each one of the about 12,000 iron pieces were designed separately to give them exactly the shape needed. All pieces were prefabricated and fit together using approx. seven million nails.
To have a top view....there is an elevator that takes us to the middle part of the Eiffel Tower.

A short video of our elevator trip ride from the top...

I gotta post this even if it's blurry...... BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS

The view from above....

My sistah is really sleepy, but I have to drag her all the way, won't like to miss every single moment of the Eiffel Tower...by the way, this is midnight..

Today, there is no such aversion anymore among the Parisians, and one could not imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower, in fact it has become the symbol of the City of Light.

Such a blast to have a zoom lens.. :)
